Happy Memorial Day Weekend to the USA. FYS-App v10.0 has been released. The main feature in this version is the FYS-Data Sign Up/Sign In. This feature allows the user to sign up for data feeds from the server. By signing up, the user gets a unique Product Key that allows the FYS-App to pull data from the FYS server. Previous versions used a default Product that allowed access to the data. That key will continue to work for the time being, but in the future that key will be deprecated and stop working. If you upgrade you version 10.0, it is strongly recommended that you Sign Up using the FYS-Data button on the main panel. By signing up, a key will be created and assign to the user. The Sign process is pretty straightforward, it requires the user to have an account with Google or Facebook. It also requires a phone number that can receive SMS/Text for Multifactor Authentication. By leveraging Social Media login credentials, the user avoids having to create a new user id and password. Also, this method keeps your login credentials safe since they are not stored in within duckysoup.com.

The account created during sign up, is an “Alway Free” FYS-Data account. With this type of account, the user gets a reduce number of stock tickers. As the name implies, these accounts are free of charge. The intention is to keep these accounts Always Free. In the future there will be Premium Accounts with full data access. Currently there is no automated method to upgrade an account from “Alway Free” to “Premium”, but this is coming soon.
